BBST Pep Rally TONIGHT and Meet Information v. Ashland
Happy Friday! Tonight we have a Neon Glow pep rally from 6 - 8 pm at the Iona Sound Pavilion. New this time—we’ll have two food trucks: 2 Smooth Dudes and Kona Ice. Feel free to bring your own food or grab something there and come hang out with the team!
This weekend we have another home meet against the Ashland Stingrays. All swimmers should plan to arrive at the pool by 5:45 AM in their team suits and caps. Below is important swim meet information, please read carefully. If you cannot attend the meet and are listed in the attached meet program, please fill out this form by midnight tonight! This form will be automatically linked to our new meet system. Please note, by filling out this form you are scratching for the entire meet, not just one event!
A few other updates for this meet–folks will be able to set up tents tonight AFTER 8:30 PM. As a reminder, tents can be set up in the pavilion area and outside the fence, but not in the parking lot. The parking lot is available to park on a first come first serve basis. Please make sure to not park in any of the reserved spots. Speaking of reserved spots, congrats to the SIELOFF and CLARKE families for winning the reserved spots this meet.
DON’T FORGET TO JOIN THE BOARD AND COACH CHRIS AT FOSTER’S GRILLE IN BRISTOW AFTER THE MEET!
PARKING: Parking is available in the lot and along the streets, but DO NOT block mailboxes or driveways.
RELAY SWIMMERS: Please allow plenty of time to check in with the Relay Coordinators at our relay tent (look for the Blaster flag) BEFORE WARM-UPS. The relay tent will be in the parking lot, not on the pool deck. If you do not check in, you run the risk of being scratched from your relay and being replaced by another swimmer. If a replacement can't be found, the entire relay team may be scratched. Remember, the outcome of some meets comes down to the relays. There have been changes to the relays listed in the meet program. Please refer to the relays document listed on the Westridge Meet Information event. All MORNING RELAY SWIMMERS should report back to the team relay area immediately following warm-ups. All AFTERNOON RELAY SWIMMERS should report back to the team relay area when the 8&U butterfly events begin (or after swimming butterfly if you are entered in that event.)

VOLUNTEERS MUST CHECK-IN at swim meets. For the home meet this weekend, please check-in with our amazing Meet Manager–Jen Armstrong–by the Blasters closet. If there is a last-minute change to your schedule, please be sure to contact your Head ASAP. As a reminder, this year we are using lanyards for the volunteer badges. You MUST turn them back in at the end of your shift. Timers/Recorders and Officials, please listen to the announcements regarding pre-meet meetings. We will need additional volunteers to fill in spots. Please sign-up on our website–you will need to be signed in to your account to sign up for the job. A guide on how to sign-up for job shifts is available on our website.
TEAM AREA: Please be sure to clean up your space before leaving. Trash cans will be provided in our area. Setting up on the deck is not allowed. Blasters families are permitted to set up tents Friday evening after 8:30 pm. Note tents set up prior to 8:30 may need to be moved in order to accommodate the team set-up process. Additionally, just a reminder that we share the grass/pavilion area with the away team. The Blasters can set up tents on the concrete area and right next to it. The left grass side is for the visiting team. Any tents in that area will be moved.
CLEAN UP: Clean up for this meet are those families whose last names begin with the letters J to Q. Please make sure to check in with our meet manager before the end of the meet and no sooner than the butterfly events. Thank you in advance.
SWIMMER ENTRIES are available on our website under the Meets & Events/Sign-up Calendar page. They are also available on the SwimTopia app. We will make sure to update the app for real time results during the meet. Parents, please be sure to look up your swimmer’s event numbers and write them with a Sharpie on your swimmer’s forearm. PWSL rules state that swimmers are NOT allowed to have any other writing on their body except the events they are swimming, and they must be written on their arms only.
MERCHANDISE: We will have merchandise available for sale this weekend. Venmo or cash will be accepted. We will also have a few of the items for people who purchased online.
Best of luck to all our swimmers on Saturday. Swim fast and go Blasters! Don’t forget to join the Blasters at Foster’s in Bristow after all home meets.
