About the Braemar Blasters Swim Team
Founded in 1999 as part of the Braemar community in Bristow, VA, the Braemar Blasters Swim Team competes in the Prince William Swim League (PWSL), established in 1972 to promote swimming in Prince William County. The league follows USA Swimming rules and currently includes 24 teams.
Our Mission
The Braemar Blasters Swim Team fosters a passion for swimming by advancing aquatic skills while emphasizing the values of good sportsmanship and teamwork. We are committed to treating all swimmers fairly, regardless of age or skill level. We measure a swimmer’s success through self-improvement, determination, and personal accomplishments.
Our Vision
Our experienced coaching staff focuses on developing technical swimming skills, conditioning, goal-setting, motivation, and sportsmanship. Swimmers build a strong self-image through perseverance and commitment, while active participation in practices encourages rule-following, respect for peers, and self-discipline. Competitive events teach resilience, both in success and failure, and contribute to the team’s spirit. Our community-oriented environment ensures fun, social interaction, and camaraderie for all.
