BBST Meet Information v. Dominion Valley (6/13/26)
Hey Blasters!! This weekend we have another swim meet away against the Dominion Valley Sharks (5350 Tournament Drive, Haymarket, VA 20169). All swimmers should plan to arrive at the pool by 6:00 AM in their team suits and caps. Please note, swimmers are only permitted to wear Braemar Blasters team suits and caps, or suits and caps with no other team logos on them. They cannot wear any team suits with other team logos.
You will find the meet information for the Dominion Valley meet on their website. Please read the information carefully as it contains important details such as parking (you need to park in the marketplace across the street–you cannot park in Dominion Valley), away team tent location, volunteer shifts, concessions and more. Very important, ALL BRAEMAR BLASTERS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE PLAYGROUND. It is right next to the tent area. If we find any Blasters on the playground, there will be consequences. This is extremely important as last year there were injuries due to the playground and we want to avoid that and any missed events.
Also, we need more volunteers! Please sign-up on our website–you will need to be signed in to your account to sign up for the job. A guide on how to sign-up for job shifts is available on our website. We have 10 open slots right now on Shift 2 for the Dominion Valley meet. Shift 2 starts at 9:30 and most likely we will be done a little bit earlier than normal since DV is an 8 lane pool.

Tents. Visiting teams are permitted to set up tents tonight after 8:30 pm. Please note that there is a possibility of storms overnight, so you may wish to wait until the morning or at least not pop up any tents.
As a reminder, PWSL is following the USA Swimming Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy, so no cameras or recording devices, including cell phones, are allowed behind the start area of the pool. The only exception is for the credentialed, official team meet photographer.
Additionally, the event reports for tomorrow, by athlete and heat sheet, can be found on our website, on the sign-up calendar page, listed right under the Dominion Valley meet. Also, you can view the events your swimmer is participating in on the SwimTopia app. Please note, the app lists APPROXIMATE start times for each event–they are estimated, not exact. We recommend you write the events on your swimmer(s) arm in sharpie. Remember you cannot have any other writing on the swimmer(s) body except for the events on their arm. Also, printed heat sheets will not be available at the meet, so either follow along on the app or print the reports at home today.
RELAY SWIMMERS: Please allow plenty of time to check in with the Relay Coordinators at our relay tent (look for the Blaster flag) BEFORE WARM-UPS. The relay tent will be in the parking lot, not on the pool deck. If you do not check in, you run the risk of being scratched from your relay and being replaced by another swimmer. If a replacement can't be found, the entire relay team may be scratched. Remember, the outcome of some meets comes down to the relays. All MORNING RELAY SWIMMERS should report back to the team relay area immediately following warm-ups. All AFTERNOON RELAY SWIMMERS should report back to the team relay area when the 8&U butterfly events begin (or after swimming butterfly if you are entered in that event.) Piedmont has an 8 lane pool, so those in a D relay should plan to swim and MUST CHECK IN with their coaches before leaving the meet.
ALL SWIMMERS, please listen closely when event numbers are being called. If your event is being called, please immediately go to the Clerk of Course for check-in. It is very important for a swimmer to report to the Clerk of Course immediately when his/her event is called. After the announcer makes the final call for the event, and the heats leave the clerk of course for the starting area, swimmers WILL NOT be permitted to join. That means they will be scratched from the event. Please take the time to find the Clerk of Course area prior to the start of the meet.
If you appear on the meet summary and WILL NOT be there, please fill out the scratch form on our website tonight.. Just note, if you are filling out the form, you are scratching for the ENTIRE meet, not a specific event.
As a reminder, VOLUNTEERS MUST CHECK-IN at swim meets. For the away meet this weekend, please check-in with our Meet Manager (Jen Armstrong) at the Relay tent during warm-ups.
Don’t forget, join us at Pizza Margherita in Gainesville after the meet!
