    Braemar v. Sudley Meet Information

Hey Blasters!! This weekend we have another swim meet away against the Sudley Seahorses (8613 Rixlew Lane, Manassas, VA 20109). All swimmers should plan to arrive at the pool by 6:00 AM in their team suits and caps. Please note, swimmers are only permitted to wear Braemar Blasters team suits and caps, or suits and caps with no other team logos on them. They cannot wear any team suits with other team logos. It’s going to be a hot one, so please come prepared. Thank you to one of our sponsors–Momentum Chiropractic and Rehab–we have cooling towels for all the swimmers!! Please see Kristen Adams at the relay tent during volunteer check-in to pick up your towel.

You will find the meet information for the Sudley meet on their website. Please read the information carefully as it contains important details such as parking, away team tent location, volunteer shifts, concessions and more. Please note concessions accepts CASH only. Also, we need a few more volunteers. Please check the All Hands on Deck sign-up and volunteer if you are able.

Tents. Visiting teams cannot set up tents until tomorrow morning. From the Sudley website, Please do not occupy the tables on deck with your bags or other personal belongings. The grounds of the club, including the field, pavilions, baby pool, and playground, are closed during swim meets. Pets (including dogs), confetti, glitter, sidewalk chalk, silly string, and alcohol are not permitted.

Additionally, don’t forget to gather all belongings and pick up all trash before leaving.

Parking. Limited parking is available in the gravel pool parking lot on a first-come first-serve basis. Overflow parking is at the Manassas mall. Please park in the area closest to the crosswalk rather than by the mall entrances. Sudley provides a police officer for traffic control and safety when crossing Rixlew Lane.

As a reminder, PWSL is following the USA Swimming Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy, so no cameras or recording devices, including cell phones, are allowed behind the start area of the pool. The only exception is for the credentialed, official team meet photographer.

Additionally, the event reports for tomorrow, by athlete and heat sheet, can be found on our website, on the sign-up calendar page, listed right under the Sudley meet. Also, you can view the events your swimmer is participating in on the SwimTopia app. Please note, the app lists APPROXIMATE start times for each event–they are estimated, not exact. We recommend you write the events on your swimmer(s) arm in sharpie. Remember you cannot have any other writing on the swimmer(s) body except for the events on their arm. Also, printed heat sheets will not be available at the meet, so either follow along on the app or print the reports at home today.

RELAY SWIMMERS: Please allow plenty of time to check in with the Relay Coordinators at our relay tent (look for the Blaster flag) BEFORE WARM-UPS. The relay tent will be in the parking lot, not on the pool deck. If you do not check in, you run the risk of being scratched from your relay and being replaced by another swimmer. If a replacement can't be found, the entire relay team may be scratched. Remember, the outcome of some meets comes down to the relays. There have been changes to the relays listed in the meet program. Please refer to the relays document listed on the Sudley Meet Information event. All MORNING RELAY SWIMMERS should report back to the team relay area immediately following warm-ups. All AFTERNOON RELAY SWIMMERS should report back to the team relay area when the 8&U butterfly events begin (or after swimming butterfly if you are entered in that event.) As a reminder, all swimmers MUST CHECK IN with their coaches before leaving the meet.

ALL SWIMMERS, please listen closely when event numbers are being called. If your event is being called, please immediately go to the Clerk of Course for check-in. It is very important for a swimmer to report to the Clerk of Course immediately when his/her event is called. After the announcer makes the final call for the event, and the heats leave the clerk of course for the starting area, swimmers WILL NOT be permitted to join. That means they will be scratched from the event. Please take the time to find the Clerk of Course area prior to the start of the meet.

If you appear on the meet summary and WILL NOT be there, please fill out the scratch form on our website tonight.. Just note, if you are filling out the form, you are scratching for the ENTIRE meet, not a specific event.

As a reminder, VOLUNTEERS MUST CHECK-IN at swim meets. For the away meet this weekend, please check-in with our Team Admin (Kristen Adams) at the Relay tent during warm-ups.

Don’t forget, join us at Foster’s in Bristow after the meet!
